An area man trapped in an almost airtight elevator over the weekend was not succesful in securing his release.

With air, and time, running out, he decided not to 'breathe so much'. However, his attempts at holding his breath only caused him to breath more rapidly once he had to breathe again.

"I'm doomed" said the man in a statement issued Sunday.
