Los Angeles - Director Tim Burton and A-List actor Johnny Depp have announced plans to wed each other in May.

"We've just worked together to this for so long... I guess we've always known... it's just now we've made it official," said Burton, as he showed off an engagement ring to the Hollywood press corps on Friday.

Depp, who is starring in two more Burton movies, the animated 'Corpse Bride' and the live action remake of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' is elated.

The movies mark the 6th and 7th appearance of Depp in a Tim Burton film.

"I guess when you love somebody you just love somebody," said the high-cheekboned Depp. "I've just never been happier, except of course when Tim and I make sweet, sweet.... sweet love".

The engaged couple then stared longingly into each other's eyes.
